Rome wasn't built in a day...but we saw it in one! I'm exhausted from running around Rome all day so this isn't going to be very detailed for right now, but one thing I will say is that it is truly awe-inspiring to imagine the ancient Romans going about their daily lives in the city. It's so easy to imagine while staring at the ruins that have been preserved (as well as you can preserve something that's 2,000 years old) and are interspersed throughout the more modern parts of the city (although occasionally modern means 1600s). If you haven't been, I highly recommend touring around the city that helped to shape modern civilization.
